The Cottage

Set in the picturesque village of East Coker, just over the Dorset Border, Longlands Cottage is a relaxing home from home with fabulous views over the fields on a small country estate.

Had a lovely holiday.  Cottage perfect and thank you for all the little extras.  Went to Forde Abbey, rode round lanes near Netherbury, stunning views, day out at Tank Museum near Dorchester.  Had fun in the pool.  Coffee machine a great hit with Ollie!  Thank you.

Mrs S July 2017

Place was very nice more then I was expecting land lady Fiona was very helpful.  House was very nice and clean we had a lovely time.  Best thing is swimming pool nice and clean.

Mr K July 2017

We had such a lovely time - great cottage, nice area with plenty to do, lovely people - that it would be very hard, if not impossible to make it even better.

Mrs C June 2017

Thank you for a lovely stay, The Cottage is brilliantly equipped for holidaying with a little one.  Lots of thoughtful touches and access to the swimming pool meant we were very happy to have this as our base.  The setting is beautiful and relaxing - and we were lucky to have some great weather to enjoy it.  Thank you!

Mr H June 2017

Very much enjoyed our stay at The Cottage.  A real home from home with some extra touches such as the welcome pack containing some much appreciated local "goodies".  Our grandson really enjoyed the swimming pool after returning from days out and we never needed to worry about sleepless nights as the comfortable beds were sure that this was never going to happen.  We will certainly be returning at a future date.  Thank you for the excellent hospitality.

Mr H June 2017

Beautifully fitted and kitted out cottage in a remote location but within easy access of the surrounding area. Lovely swimming pool which is an added bonus. A very lovely relaxing place to stay.

Mrs L May 2017

Thank you for your lovely little touches for our arrival, the bread was gorgeous. We have had a lovely stay at this lovely place it's a credit to you. You just might see us again one day

Mrs T May 2017

If you want a quiet lovely place to stay this is for you. The heated pool was great the children loved it. Fiona the owner was very friendly and leaves a few goodies to start you off. The only down side I found dew to disabilities was the steps to go down to the cottage once you were down though it was great. We would definitely come again.

Lovely to have you all stay, it was a pleasure to meet you! I wish I'd known the steps were a problem for you - could easily have arranged alternative parking! Next time we'll know. Best wishes, Fiona

Mrs T May 2017

The property was quite unique in having such easy access to a beautiful indoor pool with changing and showering facilities. We also appreciated how secure the property was, with key code access gates and a very secure and private little garden. This is a big consideration with a little person in tow!
The beds and linen were of very good quality and we had everything we needed for a comfortable 'home from home'. When we arrived later than expected and were therefore late for our Sainsbury's delivery, it was very much appreciated when Fiona took delivery of our shopping bags and even put it all away for us!
The welcome pack was excellent!
Thank you!

Mr J May 2017

For a few relaxing days it was perfect! Would love to come back for longer next time and maybe try a few days out. Beautiful cottage, countryside and views. Having good access to the lovely pool room meant I could 'chill' without having to organize trips to keep us entertained. Spending our time at your cottage was just what the doctor ordered! Thank you!

Ms B Apr. 2017

We had a very relaxing time at this beautiful cottage. It was cosy and welcoming, with lots of lovely touches (eggs for breakfast, cake, wine). The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. We didn't use the pool as we were out most of the time visiting family but it looked amazing - the photos don't do it justice! The cottage has a lovely small garden behind, which would be perfect for a BBQ in warm weather. Fiona and Jason were very friendly and welcoming hosts. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly for a peaceful break in a beautiful rural location, but with easy access to attractions, shops, walks and the Dorset coast. Thanks for having us! We'd love to stay again.

Mrs Q Apr. 2017

What a wonderful cottage - so clean, cosy and well equipped with the most comfortable beds!  We have had such restfulnights' sleep.  thank you, fiona for all the welcoming touches - the delicious lemon drizzle cake, cereals, eggs, wine.  We've had a great Easter weekend:visiting family nearby so we haven't spent as much time in the cottage as we'd have liked, but have loved returning here each evening and relaxing in the sitting room.  Thank you so much Fiona & Jason - I'm sure we'll be back!

Mrs S. Apr. 2017

Fabulous cottage and pool surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Great for families looking for a cosy retreat with lovely walks, great local pubs - and a heated pool in case it rains!

Mr H. Apr 2017

What a fabulous find!  Thank you sponsored Facebook listing and thank you Fiona for providing us with an amazing stay!  The quality of the cottage is second to none and we have enjoyed all it has to offer.  The swimming pool is the icing on the cake and provided our children with much fun during our stay.  We loved the eggs, homemade lemon cake, wine etc. - these added touches are truly appreciated adn helps set the cottage apart.  Lovely fluffy towels and high quality bedding makes for a luxurious stay, topped off with beautiful countryside views and stunning sunsets - what more could you want?!  We really hope to come back some time soon.

Mrs P. Mar 2017

Definitely one of our favourite cottages we've ever stayed in.  Extremely comfy, warm and with lots of attention to detail which makes all the difference.  The kids have absolutely loved the pool and we've enjoyed the fantastic cake and fresh eggs too - delicious!  It only been a long weekend but we all feel very refreshes - we only wish we were staying longer......

Mrs H. Mar 2017

Ideal weekend away for some R&R.  Jason and Fiona are very generous hosts - we felt very valued.  FAB pool - a true luxury and lovely and warm.  Out and about we enjoyed our trip to Weymouth and Portland.  We at some authentic tapas in "La Casa Espagnola" in Weymouth.  Nothe Harbour - highly recommend it.  Dorchester is also worth a visit.  The local pub - the Helyar Arms - is wonderful - friendly landlord and lady and the interior is stunning.  Comfy beds & comfy sofa - what more can you ask for?!!  Thank you so much.

Mrs D. Mar. 2017

We have loved staying in this beautiful cottage.  So comfortable with everything we needed.  Our hosts had thought of everything so we could relax and enjoy being away.  Thoughtful touches everywhere - wine in the fridge, cake  on the table and posh soap in the shower!  Having use of such a gorgeous pool a few steps away was such a luxury and a great activity for our 10 month old daughter.  We went to Monkey World - 45 mins away and Hive Beach - both really nice.  Hive Beach cafe looked right onto the sea and served wonderful fish.  We have loved staying here and hope to again - thank you Fiona & Jason for being such lovely, laidback hosts.

Mrs S. Feb. 2017

Thank you Fiona & family for the lovely stay, we have had a lovely quality time together, a break from our busy lives, sadly it's time to go but we will be back again soon.  The boys love the pool - big hit, thank you.

Mrs S. Feb. 2017

We had a fabulous time staying at this beautiful cottage. The location was private and quiet yet not too far for exploring the surrounding countryside and coasts. We loved having the heated pool practically on our doorstep and used it morning and afternoon every day. It was a big hit with our son. Hubby and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Fiona recommended Little Berwick House. We were not disappointed - the meals were exceptional and our son also enjoyed his evening being babysat by Gabriella - Fiona's daughter. He had a ball! We all slept so well in the very comfortable beds and appreciated the little touches of lovely homemade lemon drizzle cake, wine in the fridge, biscuits on our beds and lovely coffee and eggs. Rhsnk you to Fiona and her family for sharing their beautiful home with us. We hope to visit again.

Mrs B Feb. 2017

We love it!  I like the pool it was warm.  Just one word to say "perfect".

Samuel (age 5) Feb. 2017

Very nice cottage. Comfortable and considerately set up, with the kitchen well stocked with essentials. Fiona and Jason were friendly and hospitable. The geese and chicken were very popular with our girls. The location was a good mix of quaintly rural village, with nice countryside walks, yet still very close to Yeovil for town amenities. Swimming pool (the main draw for us) looked perfect for those interested in exercising lengths, but temperature (28c) was a little too cold (in February) for our very little ones and unfortunately could only be heated very slowly (over days).

Mr S Feb. 2017

Beautifully appointed property. So cosy. Well equipped. Nice to cook in. The kids loved the pool

Mrs P Jan. 2017

My job takes me and my mate around the country, so finding the right place to stay is essential. We always opt for self catering places over hotels as you have more freedom on what to do. However, finding the right place is always the challenge. Stumbling across this little gem of a place was perfect, The Cottage was a 'home from home' that provided all those creature comforts. I'm not one for words, but the photos on the website, don't do it justice. Whether you're staying in Yeovil for business or pleasure I would highly recommend staying at The Cottage. FYI- upon arrival we had a freshly baked lemon drizzle cake waiting in the kitchen - it's these little touches that makes The Cottage stand out from the other places we have stayed at. Thank you Fiona :-)

Mr P Jan. 2017

Our last minute break has been a magical holiday.  The cottage really is a home from home.  The children have played beautifully together in the cottage - with help from the box of toys.  We devoured the cake in two days!  We would recommend Hive Cafe at Burton Bradstock, Tamburino's for a family restaurant adn The Dinosaur Museum for a rainy afternoon.  The swimming pool was one of the main reasons we chose to book the cottageand it didn't disappoint.  So thank you, Fiona and Jason, for providing a clean, warm, comfortable base from which we had adventures we will treasure forever.  Hope to be back.

Mrs H Jan. 2017

Another wonderful stay at our favourite cottage.  Fiona always goes all out to make sure you have everything you need are are very comfortable.  We love relaxing in the cottage and popping over to the pool twice a day.  Thank you for the delicious cake on arrival adn the thoughful presents for James and Edward.  Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and hopefully we'll be back in 2017!

Mrs C Dec. 2016

We cannot add to previous comments but we want to add our thanks to Fiona & Jason for a most enjoyable short break.  From the lemon cake to the immaculate furnishings and the helpful but not intrusive attention our grateful thanks.

Mr S Dec. 2016

We had a super weekend with your 2 your grandaughters of 5 and 3 years for pre Christmas celebrations.  The girls absolutely loved your chickens (and their eggs), your tree swing outside the lounge window and most of all your enormous indoor pool which they used on every opportunity.  The image of a just swimmer completing the whole length of the pool is priceless.  We felt really cosseted by luxury and our visiting friends and family were totally envious.  Hoping to return.

Mrs S Dec. 2016

Thank you so much Fiona & Jason.  A last minute plan for a weekend break but how fortunate we have been to discover this little gem of a place as a result.  Beautifully cosy, and your thoughtfulness and attention to detail means everything you could need for a home away from home is here.  So nice to be met with a lovely spread of food and drink upon our arrival.  Lemon drizzle cake kept us going for the whole of our stay.  The boys have absolutely loved messing about in hte pool, and to have it right  on one's doorstep is such a treat.  We're sad to be leaving so soon but will definitely be back again and for longer next time.  We've been very impressed from start to finish.

Mr C Nov. 2016

We have had such a lovely time.  Thank you so much for your hospitality - the eggs, cider, milk and of course CAKE!!  were very much appreciated.  The Cottage is beautiful and we have felt so at home here.  Despite Storm Angus' best efforts we have packed lots in from a Christmas fair at Hestercombe to cider tasting at Perry's.  Montacute House made a good local visit.  Our son has absolutely loved the pool and such a treat in bad weather to have an attraction right on our doorstep.  We are sad to be going home as we really have had a special family break with lots of memories.  We will be recommending Flo's Cottages and hope to return soon.

Mrs W Nov. 2016

Thank you for providing such lovely accommodation - we couldn't believe it when we walked through the door to the little cottage and found a tray waiting for us on the table laden with delicious treats!  After such a long journey we could immediately relax and begin our little holiday.  the attention to detail is perfect, everything we needed was provided.  We have all thoroughly enjoyed the pool and air hockey - we have felt completely spoilt!  We would love to come again next year, we came here on a recommendation from a previous guest and have not been disappoionted!

Mrs S Nov. 2016

Thank you so much.  We have had the perfect weekend away.  Thank you for the lovely accommodation and the welcoming cake (yum yum), cider and eggs.  We felt really spoilt.  The children loved the swimming pool, what a beautiful asset.  We will definitely be visiting soon, booked already.

Mrs S Oct. 2016

Thank you for a wonderful stay here at Longlands. You've been brilliant, especially when we needed you for a few minor issues or general queries.  Great to have such responsive hosts who make you feel right at home.  The cottage and pool have been superb, fabulous facilities - modern yet homely.  Our daughter has adored the pool and we've slept really well - a great break!  We've loved exploring the area on foot and by car.  Longleat was a family favourite, the sand festival and beach at Weymouth and Clarkes outlet village proved very interesting!  Fun for all.  We will miss our noisy, friendly chickens and their eggs adn I'll be sure to give that lemon cake recipe a whirl - A real treat.  So nice to arrive to all the goodies.  Honestly from booking our trip to sadly leaving we've loved it.  We will be sure to recommend you to family and friends.

Mrs W Oct. 2016

Thank you Fiona for a break from the hectic city - the little touches made it for us, teh cake, eggs, White Company products all show thecar and attention you give the cottage.  Had lovely walks, swam and played.

Mrs P Oct. 2016

Brilliant, just brilliant!

Robyn (age 5) Oct 2016

Where do we start!  Peace, quiet and tranquility.  a very relaxing week due to all the preparation by Fiona.  Lovely cake, quality wine, fresh eggs, nice coffee and an interesting one way conversation with a chicken!

Mrs P Sept. 2016

Perfect. Peace, quiet and tranquility. Lovely location, superb hosts, first class cottage and excellent swimming pool facilities.

Mr P Sept. 2016

Fiona was a great host. Everything was beautifully prepared. She even went to the trouble of providing a delicious cake, fresh farm eggs, milk and wine for us on arrival. The cottage is very well set up, fantastic kitchen facilities if you want to self cater including a huge range. The house is nestled in the countryside, our son loved to see their chickens and sheep in the fields. The pool is a real bonus, again beautifully presented. Fiona was always approachable if you needed anything. Really lovely stay, thank you.

Ms. S Sept. 2016

The whole family really enjoyed their stay at Flo's Cottages. Our little ones loved the pool - especially considering how close and private it was! The cottage was so sweet and there were countless lovely touches to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Fiona was a gracious host and was always on-hand with help and advice when we needed it. Absolutely worth a visit if you'd like to visit Dorset and Somerset!

Mrs L. Sept. 2016

Mrs S Sept. 2016

Gorgeous cottage and location. Owners are helpful, friendly, allow your privacy and really look after you. The swimming pool is amazing. A big hit with my two kids! Lots and lots of places to explore and discover, beaches local (30-40 min drive) are stunning. I think Somerset and Dorset are my new favourite counties. It's so good we have booked the same two weeks in Aug next year. Can't wait to return as we ran out of time to fit in everything we wanted too. Lots of places to eat locally as well with access via Yeovil to supermarkets and takeaways that deliver

Mrs J Aug 2016

We had a lovely time staying in this cosy, comfy cottage. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners. The arrival pack of luxury cereals, home made marmalade and lemon cake and not forgetting wine and freshly laid eggs made a lovely unexpected but very welcome treat. There was much to see and do in the surrounding area, however, given the lovely swimming pool available we were also very happy to stay in! We would recommend this property.

Mrs L July 2016

We had a wonderful stay here. A beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. Fiona was so welcoming and ever so thoughtful too. The kids loved being able to go swimming and also see the chickens and geese each morning. Would love to come and stay again.

Mrs F. June 2016

We enjoyed chatting to you both and it was a great experience staying at your place and really the photos and description don't do it credit. We loved the pool. The surroundings were beautiful - so peaceful down the narrow lanes and in your beautiful grounds, and the accommodation so spacious. And worth it even just for the lemon drizzle cake.

Mr T June 2016

Fiona and Jason were the perfect hosts. The accommodation and facilities available were amazing and very much under stated in the description. My family and I had a great time here. I would put this cottage on par with a 5* hotel. Every eventuality was catered for at a high quality. A home away from home. From farm animals to the luxurious indoor heated pool this holiday location does not fail to please. Location is near many attractions and hosts provided a plethora of recommendations in their well written house manual. Don't hesitate to book, you will enjoy. Thank you Fiona and Jason for a wonderful holiday.

Mr Y June 2016

The pictures and profile don't do this place justice. It's absolutely fantastic and I would definitely recommend. It is a luxury cottage with high end amenities and above and beyond thoughtful and welcoming touches. Fiona is so lovely and we couldn't have wished for a better break. If you're looking for a relaxing escape, this is the place. Even the animals are welcoming!

Miss L. May 2016

We had a lovely time. Beautiful little cottage. Well decorated and finished to a high standard. We were met with some homemade Lemon Drizzle cake and some other goodies! It is an ideal location to explore Somerset or West Dorset, both beautiful areas.

Mr P May 2016

This truly is like stepping inside the covers of a Country life magazine. Beautiful cottage with everything you could wish for for comfort and convenience. Comfy beds that you will not want to get out of, and so quiet. All modern appliances provided us with everything we needed for our stay. I booked this literally last minute for three nights, and wish we could have stayed longer. We were greeted with a selection of homemade goodies as well as wine and fresh eggs. We were unable to make use of the indoor pool even though it was tempting due to our schedule which was a shame. This really is a 4 star cottage, and exceeded our expectations. Close shops in Yeovil and for visiting nearby tourist attractions, or perfect for a quiet getaway in the country to escape and do nothing! If back this way in future, we will be staying here again. Thanks Fiona for taking my last minute booking.

Mrs G May 2016

Stayed with my wife and two kids (8 & 12) for a week and loved the location for exploring the many attractions that are available locally. The cottage is amazing - outstanding attention to detail, very homely and nice to see high quality throughout for a change (furniture, bedding, appliances and even cutlery!), quite often costs are cut back on the little things that spoil the whole experience - not this time!. Swimming pool is a great feature and only a skip away from the front door. What impressed us most was the very warm and personal welcome we received - little things like fresh flowers and home made products make all the difference. We will definitely look to stay and again and would recommend highly.

Mr U May 2016

The Cottage itself is beautiful - great standard of furnishings and decorated beautifully. There is a real attention to detail and lovely welcome pack to greet you (including home-made cake, marmalade and gin, as well as fresh eggs and wine to name but a few). There were fresh flowers too and even a copy of the T S Elliot poem about the village - the owners have taken real care with everything. The pool is only meters away - and is a great size and really clean. It is also in a beautiful building with wooden beams - nice to look at if you're doing back-stroke! The location is good - less than a minute down a country road but away from any noise. Still close to the town though so very accessible. I had day trips to Clarks Shopping Village in Street and also to Exeter, and they were easy drives. The owners are lovely and welcoming - thank you so much for a great few days. I'll be back!
